Are the Websites Beaten by Facebook?

As you know Facebook announced the amount that it won by companies that have sponsored or advertising last year. After that web sites like AdAge, Mashabble, Webrazzi, Sysomos published some articles which were claim that corporate websites seem to be useless and abandoned against the Facebook pages of companies. Then, of course, claims like corporate websites come to an end put forward.

At first the aim of Facebook was to direct the consumer to web sites. But now it threatens the corporate web sites. It has known that digital agents designed micro sites for brands and companies for few years ago. These micro sites which were only alive during the campaign are under the "big pages" of Facebook today. This means that digital agents make all their spending under the umbrella of Facebook and visitors can visit these pages permanently. This strengthens Facebook and lower back corporate web sites from the previous period.

But there are still some people who have hope. Nick Rappolt who is an EMEA managing director of Beyond is one of them. "Yes, Facebook is pretty strong for about to communicate with the consumer or maybe it is the stronger place. However, only using Facebook in social media means to address to a specific group. If you look at this matter globally, there are a lot of people who don't have a Facebook page or even a Facebook account. I think killing corporate web sites which are the safe place of brands is not a smart move." and he adds, "Just using Facebook pages puts you back in Google searches. Yes, Facebook's power cannot be undermined but it shouldn't be used as only medium."

So there is time for Facebook to be sufficient in terms of SEO. However, moving corporate web sites to Google+ is not that easy. When it is done, Google+ will be taken seriously by Facebook and the balances will be reconsidered. Of course all of these require active users. It is not important for Google, but meanwhile Facebook saves time.

In this case, corporate web sites won't be closed down. But corporate web sites should analyse these flexible structures which depends on the attention of users and shouldn't forget that home base. Your target group will tell you what they want to be and who they want to communicate with. All you have to do is to hear what they say.
