The world's largest online social media site Social Media Examiner announced to Social Media Report of published each year. 1 year is quite some time for changes in the digital world. Therefore, this year's trends in social media marketing have an interesting data. The study is included nearly 3,000 people in the marketing industry. This week, we wanted to share the important issues on the data.


  • We were thinking of increase in the use of applications such as Foursquare. The data show that it decreases. While these applications were used by 24% rate in recent years has dropped to 10% this year. Similarly, observed decrease in the rate of use of marketing campaigns.
  • Marketers are spending in social media 40 hours a week with fact that social media is important for brands. The most commonly used social media tools; Pinterest, Google+, Instagram and Youtube. While 67% of marketers planning to increase activity on Twitter, this figure are 69% last year and 73% in 2011.
  • Facebook and LinkedIn are the two most important social networks for marketers. When forced to only select one platform, 49% of marketers selected Facebook, followed by LinkedIn at 16%
  • Data on social media bookmarks stand out in the report. Especially, user figures of the Twitter, Pinterest, and Reddit are a reduction. According to the report, the use of social bookmarking sites has fallen from 26% to 10%.
  • Marketers are seen as a social media platform of the future to Youtube for reach consumer. Respectively, Youtube have been followed by Facebook, Blogs, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

 

A surprising 79% of marketers agreed that they had integrated their social media and traditional marketing activities. Creating a social strategy is still a major concern for marketers (83%). This is a positive indicator that marketers are now thinking about social media within the larger umbrella of marketing and trying to determine smart strategies.
