Web Browsers

Web Browsers, with their different functionality and their different design, ease our life in Internet world. Disual is trying to verify all the web work for those browsers depending on the researches about web browsers around the world. There is one newly published research about the use of the web browsers by PC Labs.

We would like to share Internet Explorer's, Mozilla Firefox's, Opera's and Safari's statistics of this research. You may see in the chart below the percentage of the use of web browsers. This research is based on the visitors of PC Labs.

The Use of Web Browsers

PS: Internet Explorer percentages contains all versions of IE ( IE6, IE7,IE8), same for Firefox.

This chart contains only information about visitors of PC Labs. So it might not be a definitive number but it helps us to comment on realistic data.

  • If Internet Explorer's decrease continues, (last 7 months each month there was a 2.5% decrease) it might decrease up to 45% of the market in 6 month. With the release of IE 8 next month, this trend doesn't seem to be change.
  • In July IE7is used more than IE6. (IE7 36,2% - IE6 24,3%)
  • The increase in Firefox and Opera show the passion and contentment of the users. We didn't add Safari to the chart because for the last 7 month it stayed still on 0,5% and it shows no increase at all.
  • After the release of Firefox3, the use of Firefox has increase 8,7% in June. In this increasing trends continues in 6 month more then half of the visitors of PC Labs will be using Firefox.
  • New release of Opera version 9.5, the increase of the useage has increase relatively 12% and 7% in last 2 month.

The reason of the proportional increase in use of Firefox and Opera is the decrease of the websites designed only for IE. Even we came to a point that, Banks that use to provide the use of IE have switched to Firefox or Opera because of the problems that they encounter with Internet Explorer.
